The enthusiasm was every where and the program great. Trouble was, there was activity everywhere and I couldn't attend all of it on Saturday. I wanted to hear Tom Nuccio but had to introduce John Wang. John was excellent and so was Gene phillips, with the Sinensis story. The food was out of this world and Country club dinner a splendid affair. There were lots of meetings, but I only had to attend two of those. The Friday night cocktail party, at the Tufflis , provided by all of the Northern California Camellia Societies was, happily, attended by lots of Peninsula Society Members and we were glad to see so many, and of course all of the Board . Don Bergamini was a superb Bar tender through out the event, and all the Southerners enjoyed the wine and plentiful shrimp, and veggies. Of course the garden tours were most enjoyable. Everyone raved about the Garden, and wondered when Barbara has the time to do all that work. Every thing went off like clock work and the event proved a success. The Hotel Sheraton did a good job and most guests were pleased with their rooms and accommidations. There will be more to follow, but I would like to hear from some of those that attended and have you add your thoughts. That's what this blog is all about. Since I do not want any more growth, I'm switching to more phosphate and potash. My plants have already had about as much nitrogen as they can handle so. it's time to start dropping off the nitrogen and increasing the phosphate and potash. To do this I use, 0 10 10 in liquid form, from Navlets in Concord. Use as directed on the bottle or a little lighter if you are growing in containers. More about this later.
